New Video Series called, 'CHURCH LIFE'

Church Life: Episode 1 How Do Churches Make Money? People assume that churches are organizations built to take people's money because they do not understand how they operate. In this series, Church Life, we answer all of your questions about the behind the scenes of church. In this episode, we explain how churches operate financially.

Let Us Thank God For Another Church Anniversary!

As you know, September 4, 1988, our church ministry began.  To God be the Glory, 29 years later we are still able to serve God together.  In spite of some bad times, the ups and downs, the ins and outs, those who come and those who have moved on, we are learning to put our trust in God and lean not unto our own understanding.

I personally want to thank our Elders, Ministers, Church Officers, and current members for your commitment, service, and your love for our church and towards me and my family.  For the work of God is not about just one person, but it's about being a family or a team that is willing to work together and serve together for a greater purpose.  And because God is working through all of us, this goal is being accomplished.  Therefore, may the Lord continue to do a special work in our hearts that we might know Him better, and renew our minds, so that we might follow Him unconditionally, and strengthen our bodies so that we serve Him always.

I love you and I thank you!

Pastor John,

"Moving Forward, Moving Ahead."

As we are coming to the close of another year, I wanted to challenge myself, as well as, you about “Moving Forward, Moving Ahead.”

Refusing to be stuck, or dwelling on, or living in the past, but learning to trust and follow God as He moves us forward, as He moves us ahead.

Whether, it’s at the start of a new year,                                                                                                                          Or, whether it’s dealing with a new season in life,                                                                                                      Or, whether it’s facing new opportunities,                                                                                                                    Or, situations, or changes,                                                                                                                                              Or, sometimes, it’s after a great victory,                                                                                                                      Or, sometimes, it’s after a devastating loss.

Many times, it is God who is wanting to move us forward, move us ahead.                                                           Whether it be Spiritually, Emotionally, Mentally, Psychologically, Financially, Relationally, locationally or geographically.

But, because of our fears, our insecurities, our inadequacies,                                                                                   Or, because we give place to the devil and his forces,                                                                                       Unfortunately we can remain stuck or dwell on, or live in the past.

I believe it is our time to trust and follow God as He moves us forward, as He moves us ahead.

So, during the month of January 2016, with God’s help in our Sunday morning service, we will be learning form God’s Word, “How To Trust And Follow God As He Moves Us Forward, As He Moves Us Ahead!”

Philippians 3: 13 & 14, NKJV says;                                                                                                                                    V 13.  “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”                                                                             V 14.  “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Just one of the many passages from the Bible, we will be considering that will help us to know how to trust and follow Him as He moves us forward, as He moves us ahead.

If you are able to join us on Sunday Morning at our 11 am Service, please know you’re welcome.  Or, you can listen to our Sunday morning sermons on this subject and others.  Or, you can read and study the sermon notes on this subject and others, whenever you like.

Black Lives Need to Matter to Us First

I've been thinking about the cry, "Black Lives Matter."

They have to matter first to us before they matter to others.  The constant violence, hatred, and fear that exists in most of our communities towards one another is unacceptable, and we need to change.

Perhaps looking at this video will inspire you to make a difference.

A Message About Vitiligo

In our first Message From the Pastor, Pastor Whaley opens up about Vitiligo and how he has been dealing with a disease that has taught him to be more empathetic to people with disabilities. If you know anyone with Vitiligo, or any other ailment that they would like to talk about, the Cornerstone Community Church would love to pray with you and talk with you.
